  • The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre Join To Create Whistler Alpine Welcome Figure
    On June 24th at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre(SLCC) in Whistler, master carver Xwalacktun (Rick Harry) will commence the carving of a Salish Welcome Figure to be placed in near PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola Station as a continuation of Cultural Journey Sea to Sky up Whistler Mountain. The carving is a joint effort by the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and the SLCC to increase the profile of Aboriginal Tourism in the region.

Mother Nature may be off to a slow start but June 19 marks the official launch of summer activities at Whistler Blackcomb with an alpine tube park, glacier skiing and riding, and alpine sightseeing.

    Highlights Include: Record Breaking Snowfall, the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the Golden Eagle Award. The 2009.10 winter season at Whistler Blackcomb was one for the record books. History was made this year in more ways than one beginning with record breaking snowfall in November and was topped off when Whistler’s 50 year dream of hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games was realized.
  • Blackcomb 2009.10 Ski/Ride Season Wraps Up With The Exciting Return Of The Crud 2 Mud Race
    Competitors tackle snow and dirt crowning the dual sport champions. After a four year hiatus, the classic season-transition event mixing the end of the ski and snowboard season with the start of the bike season returned with rave reviews from participants and organizers.
